Gun Holdup in Islington Village

We have been advised of the following incident in Islington Village by our friends at the Rosethorn Tennis Club. Please watch for unknown parked cars on your street:
“One of our Rosethorn Tennis Club members, and a past member of the executive, wanted to alert you to be suspicious of parked cars on your street that you don’t recognize, as her 21-year old son was robbed at gunpoint at 8:30 last night in Etobicoke. Her son had just pulled into his dad’s driveway to pick up something when a parked car pulled up to the driveway and a young 17- or 18-year old jumped out, walked right up to him pointing a gun at his head demanding his belongings. Fortunately her son did not resist and complied in handing everything over, which fortunately was very little, and their entire family is safe. Officers informed them that they had received calls of 7 similar incidents within the past hour of this happening, so please be very vigilant, and stay safe. We are so glad that our member and her family was unharmed.”
If you have seen or heard anything suspicious, please contact the Police.
If you see a crime in progress, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
