A Community Safety Message

This notice comes from one of our neighbourhood schools:
Dear Parents and Guardians

We have received notification from Officer Diodati, our community officer from 22 Division which we would like to bring to your attention. On Sunday, May 24th, 2015, a student who attends on of Officer Rich’s Etobicoke schools in 22 Division was approached by a stranger operating a vehicle.

The suspect is Male, described as East Indian, 30-40 years old, Goatee, Dark hair with tattoos on his neck and had an accent. The suspect was driving a 2 door lime green vehicle, possibly a “Ford Focus”, with a 5 inch dent on the driver’s side rear bumper. The car had Manitoba license plates.

Though this occurrence took place in Peel Region and is currently being investigated by Sergeant Cade # 2479 or Detective Calabrese of 11 Division (905-453-3311; Extension 1135), it is not too far from the Toronto (Etobicoke) boundary. Officer Diodati wishes to be proactive in making all in the Etobicoke community aware of the incident.

Please remember to review the “Personal Safety” tips/rules which has been distributed by our school earlier in the year. These personal safety rules have been sent with this message for your consideration to reinforce at home as well. Officer Diodati mentioned that the child in this incident remembered what had been taught to him in regards to “strangers”, when Officer Diodati had visited the child’s school, earlier in the year.
