Suspicious Activity at Strath Ave. / Mellor Rd.

This report just came in from one of our neighbours which seems to indicate suspicious activity by two workers posing as lawn care workers in the Strath Ave. and Mellor Rd. area:
At around 6:30 pm this evening I looked out my front window and noticed what I thought was suspicious behavior. A young man on his cell phone was walking slowly and was clearly looking at each home. He then brought his phone behind him, and held the phone in both hands, kept walking and was recording the street (I could see the screen was on photo/video mode).

He continued across the street to a white truck where he stopped, raised his arms as to stretch, did a slow full circle with cell phone still in hand. He then checked his phone, got in the passenger’s side and waited for 20 minutes. The driver came to the truck briefly and left again during which time I called the police.

They left a while later and the police cruiser missed them by two minutes.
  • white Ford pick-up truck with a lawn mower in the back.
  • two east Indian males, late 20’s.
  • driver wearing a reflective vest.
  • passenger was in plain clothes with construction boots.

In addition to the odd behaviour, he didn’t look to me like a construction worker (just a gut feeling).

It could very well be nothing but I felt uneasy and decided to call it in.
If you have seen or heard anything suspicious, please contact the Police.
If you see a crime in progress, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
