Rising Number of Vehicle Thefts

Please note, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of vehicles stolen in the past week. There were 6 vehicles reported stolen last week, mostly from residential homes or driveways, especially near Jopling Ave. North in Islington - City Centre West and along the rail corridor in Kingsway South.

Weekly Crime Summary (March 7 - March 13) »

Please take extra care to make sure your vehicles are securely locked (and parked out of sight if possible). To minimize the risk of key fobs being picked up by handheld scanners or being stolen during a break-in, please do not store your keys near the entrances into your home, or store them in an RF-shielded container such as a Faraday Bag.

For more information on minimizing the risk of your vehicle being stolen, please refer to the 22 Division CPLC website on Crime Prevention (Auto Crimes).

If you have seen or heard anything suspicious, please contact the Police.
If you see a crime in progress, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
